Mark and I have been celebrating Christmas together since we were 16. Since my dad was a firefighter he usually had to work Christmas morning. So my family (the Youngs) have always celebrated "Christmas" on Christmas Eve. With the Youngs we open gifts at 2:00, head to church, and then have a christmas party that night.... Then later that night we head over to Marks parents house to open christmas pajamas, spend the night, and open presents christmas morning. Then... My family heads over later on Christmas day for Christmas breakfast aka Christmas feast. Ok, now that we have the logistics of the story out of the way I will continue with this post...... This year was awesome (more photos of wyatt soon to come). Mark got pretty much everything from Santa he wanted. The bummer was he ordered all his gifts online. So I sat super bummed the night before thinking about how he is going to know everything he got for Christmas, and how "un-cool" that was! So at 11:30 pm the night before Christmas Eve I found myself at Walmart (like every one else on the planet) buying Mark what I like to call "fun crap" so he would have a few fun surprises to open up with his cool jacket, pants, and shoes he ordered months before. It was super fun and random to see Mark open up a shoe organizer, hand wormers for snowboarding, Jenga, and an Ed hardy coffee mug (inside joke). Then came time for me to open up my presents.... Of course I did it the old fashioned way and had NO idea what I was getting for Christmas (Mark, never again will you get to choose your gifts, let alone order them . You can only give suggestions :) My gift started with a big box and ended with a little box in a pile of canned food (to weight the box down) and tissue paper. I had no idea what he got me until I opened the last box. Inside was a beautiful pair of earrings! You can see how excited I was :)

Mark has one older sister and two younger brothers. Whenever the brothers get together it’s as if the world become dumber (no offense, I love you all). We were only at Marks house for a few minutes before Mark and his youngest brother were preparing to prank Matt (the middle brother). I hear a scream from the 2nd floor and knew that the Iced shower had been a success. Since I have been in their family for so long, I feel just as close to Marks brothers as I do my own sister. Its an awesome feeling to have such a close relationship with my ” in laws” and my own family.
The series of photos below is not planned or staged. It is a perfect example of how one of the brothers would act if they got a “cool scarf” for Christmas and some new shoes from Santa….. Christmas eve and Chrismas morning were a huge success with The Brookes. We could not be more happy to spend it with our family and the people that mean the most to us. There will be many Jenga tournaments, iced showers, Karate kits to the head, and laughter for years to come.

LOVE IT. I got earrings and I’m pretty sure my reaction was identical. HAHA.
