God is so Good...

Baby is beautiful...

And our new family is truly pefect....

To be honest I wish I could just leave these three statements and be done with this post, because that is really how Mark and I feel. But I would never do that to all our blog readers! If you follow our blog you have been watching Mark and I grow as people and in so many other was these past 9 months. It has been great to share our lives with everyone on the blog, and for you to get a glimpse into who we are as people, and who we want to become as new parents. So now we would love to share an amazing event that happened a week ago today... the birth of Baby Wyatt!

I shot a wedding on September 19th (which turned out amazing and we cant wait to blog it), On September 20th I started having contractions every 7 minutes. I was so excited because I knew I was finally going to meet my little man that day.... But then a few hours past and everything kinda stopped, I was very disappointed (ok to be honest, I bawled my eyes out because I felt like the baby was never going to come). The morning of September 21st 2009 I woke up at 4:30am in a complete panic. I was sweating, my heart was beating faster then it ever had, and I could not feel baby wyatt moving. I was a wreck (but please note, I was not in labor). I immediately jumped out of bed, got dressed, and whispered in Mark ear "im going to the hospital, please dont wake up yet, I am just freaked out that the baby is not moving. I want them to check his heart beat". Mark kinda opened his eyes and tried to convince me that he could "quickly get ready". But because I was so freaked out, I just told him I would call him the minute I got to the hospital and they confirmed that everything was "ok". I jumped in my car, dove 90 miles an hour, prayed, prayed some more, talked to wyatt, yelled at wyatt "wake up wake up" and finally made it to the hospital... Once I got there they hooked me up to a bunch of different cords and machines. I waited in anticipation to hear Wyatts heart beat, "is he ok, is he ok", I kept asking the nurse. Finally I heard what I needed to hear, Wyatts heart beat! I took a few deep breaths and thought to myself, man Im ridiculous and a little embarrassed that I just made the biggest deal out of nothing. But before that thought could fully make its way through my head, the nurse quickly asked me "did your water break". I answered confidently "no". "Well then you have had a rupture in your water bag for a while now and we need to get you into labor asap"! "what, really, you mean Im not going home"? I was even more emabarrased and freaked out now becasue I did not have my over night bag, I did not have my make up on, and I didnt even bring my HUSBAND!

I quickly called Mark who was already awake and waiting anxiously for me to call. He packed everything up and within what seemed like a few hours (really it was about 7) I was holding our baby Wyatt. Labor was easy (other then the 45 min I did not have my epidural). And the connection that Mark and I have now from this experience is something I could never explain to anyone. Our love for Wyatt and each other is so great that It really helps me understand how much God loves us. Many of my friends have asked me if I fell like a "Mom". My answer to that is I am the same person, but better! I have not changed, I have developed into a better version of myself. It is truly an amazing experience to be a parent! ... Here are some photos that Mark took of me and Wyatt during the whole process. We warned Wyatt that he would be getting his photo taken almost every day... So here are the first ones we will always cherish!

Candice-never feel silly wondering if your child is okay. That won’t be the last time that happens. Praise God for your baby. I have friends going through hard times from sad stories with their babies and they are thankfully getting through it all with God by their side.

Praise God he has given you a husband that loves you and a baby that will love you forever and always. You are going to have some of the coolest moments ever with your child. The first time he laughs, the first time he really really looks at you, and the the first times of so many things.

I would have to agree with you that yes, I am now a mom-but I’m still the same person. Only now with my 19 mth old son, I am a better person.

He is beautiful and you and Mark will have so much fun. What a sweet life
