It is that time again! We are launching our Mark Brooke Classes.... and they are even better than before! We are launching three classes: Rad photos 101, Reception and off Camera Lighting, and Booking Out Your Year. We love teaching our classes!

We have been full time wedding photographers for many years now and we put a lot of love, time, energy, brain power, and thought into our business. Every decision that we make is thoroughly thought through and we spend a lot of time chatting about what direction we want to go in. We have fought hard to make our business a strong, artsy, fun, happy, colorful, photojournalistic brand. We love what we do, and we honestly love all of our clients! So where we are today in our business has not been based on "luck", and we would love to share why we believe that. We also love teaching our Mark Brooke Classes. Workshops for photographers have become very popular over the years, but we have chosen to stick to teaching topic specific classes that can help photographers grow in areas that need attention. At our classes we laugh, we learn, and we have a lot of fun. Because they are only two hours you won’t leave with information overload. We have taught these classes several times and we are thrilled to be launching them again. You can take one class or you can take them all.

The number of photographers for each class is limited to keep the learning community small. We want you to be able to ask questions and truly LEARN! If you book 2 classes we are giving the 3rd half off! If you are a husband and wife team you must buy two "seats", but we will discount the 2nd seat by 50% (email if you have questions on this).

I should be hauled off to jail by now for the amount of parking tickets Mark and I manage to get (please note my sarcasm if you are a new client checking us out :)! Just yesterday we got two and last week we I got one.... But in my defense this is what is happening. In our neighborhood the street sweeping sign states that the streets get cleaned every 1st and 3rd wednesday of the month between 8:00am and 12:00am. Well, they are big fat liars! Sometimes they come after 12:00, other times they come on the 2nd wednesday of the month, and every once in a while they do not come at all! Its so annoying and extremely frustrating when I start to pre-budget in an extra $100 a month for the parking tickets. I have told a few friends about this (the Boutwells) and they suggest we take each ticket to court. But in all honesty, we do not have an extra 5 hours a week to put together case after case to fight each ticket. So now I am forced to park in random spots every wednesday in fear that I might get a parking ticket. Its really lame and I needed someone to express my ongoing frustration with.

Now deep breath, ahhhhh..... here is a couple that is brings a smile to my face. Jamie and Jared contacted us last month. They were already married but wanted to rock a day after session (which we love when people do this). They are both so sweet and you can tell that their marriage is as solid as a rock. The emotion and laughter we were able to catch was so sweet and genuine. It makes my day every time Mark Brooke Photographers get to be apart of a rad couples life. Here are just a few of our favorite photos :)

As far as we know, Mark and I are the only photographers that offer Flip books in our wedding day packages. Its kinda fun to have something unique and different from your average wedding day package. We started offering them about a year ago and they have "Blown up" with our clients! Many people come into our studio asking about them, so I thought I would give all the info in this post...
The flip book can be purchased in a DVD form that is set to music (like shown below). Or it can be sold in a hard copy form. If you order a hard copy version of your flip book they are sold in sets of 9. This way you can give them away as wedding gifts to your family members or the people that mean the most to you.
The reason why many of our clients will purchase the flip book ranges from all different reason... Some people dont want wedding videography so they opt for the flip book (but, If you are looking for a videographer, check out Brittany Fay Video or Elysium) . But, most people will add them to their wedding package because they want something different, something edgy, and something super fun that reminds them of their special day. The videos are only 3-5 min long, so its fun to have them to show off  to family and friends without having to bust out a 30 min video, or go over all your 1000+ wedding photos with them. In short, the main reason why many of our clients will purchase these videos, and the reason why we sell them is because Wedding photography is one of the only things that last after the wedding is all said in done. The day goes by so fast and before you know it, what took months to prepare and look forward to is over in a blink of an eye. Once its over its so important to have great photos, albums, videos, and other things that remind you of the day you married the person of your dreams!

A "day after session", also know as a "Trash the dress, or "High Fashion Bridal Shoot" are very common among our Mark Brooke Brides. We have over 50 amazing clients this year and all of them love the artsy, funky, fresh photography style that we bring to the table. In a few of our wedding packages we include the "day after session". It is a time where we can get together with our brides one last time after the wedding is all said and done and rock out another shoot. We do the shoots either the week after the wedding, a month after, or when ever the bride has time in her calendar. Some reasons why one would want a "day after shoot" are as follows: the light might not be "idea" on the wedding day, Stress levels might be running high, there is no way in heck we can get the dress dirty on the wedding day, the time line is just to cramped for a long enough portrait session.... Or the most common reason, the bride wants MORE AWESOME PHOTOS! Because our packages can be built customizable we are able to sell the "day after shoots" ala Carte, so if you are already married, or would like to add this shoot on to your current Mark Brooke Wedding package, we can do that at any time.
